Three Doctors are sent by the Caranfellow Institure to Africa to search for a formula that will cure infantile paralysis. Trevor is accompanied by his wife, Georgia (Viva Tattersall), and their young son Jan (Dickie Jones). Trevor discovers the formula but Bracken and Phillips conspire to steal it. Trevor writes half the formula on a piece of parchment and the other half on a flexible metal band which he places on Jan's wrist. Jan and his chimpanzee playmate wander into a menagerie on the post and his mother loses her life protecting him against a lion. Trevor is knocked unconscious, and the chimpanzee leads Jan into the jungle. Bracken and Phillips, believing Trevor is dead, head back to the U.S.A. They return fifteen years later, find the parchment half of the formula and lead a safari on a search for a boy named Jan who has been raised by the jungle animals.

Chick Carter, Boy Detective did his sleuthing on radio before Columbia brought him to the screen in Chick Carter, Detective. The juvenile hero of the radio waves had underwent certain changes in order for grown-up actor Lyle Talbot to portray him. Talbot's Chick Carter, however, remained strangely inactive in his own serial, allowing crusading reporter Rusty Farrell to perform most of the necessary derring-do. Chick Carter, Detective was more or less a straightforward crime melodrama that eschewed the usual ray guns, invisibility inventions, and other paraphernalia of the genre.

Released in 1939, this 12 chapter serial is easily one of the ten finest serials of all-time. It is the story of three circus stunt men who track down an ruthless madman known as 39-0-13. Bent on destroying the wealth and integrity of his former employer, he imprisons him and takes on his identity in order to facilitate his deeds of destruction. Lot's of action, suspense & mystery. Highly recommended.

While on Safari in East Africa, Clyde Beatty runs into a loincloth wearing boy, Baru, and his pet ape Bonga. Baru reveals that he has escaped from the lost city of Joba, King Solomon's sacred city of the Golden Bat, but that his sister, Valerie, remains there. She was found by High Priest Dagna as a child and declared to be Joba's goddess as part of his quest for power. Her escape could cause a revolt among the city's citizens. Clyde agrees to help Baru rescue Valerie and they set out to Joba, through the Valley of Lost Souls. Meanwhile, the unscrupulous Durkin and Craddock notice the green diamond Baru is wearing and follow them to plunder the city for similar jewels. Don Daredevil Rides Again - $10.00

This was one of Republic's last Zorro serials. Zorro does not ride in this serial, since Disney now owned the rights to the Zorro character. This film starred Ken Curtis as Don Daredevil. Curtis also plays Don Daredevil's second identity, Lee Hadley. Hadley is visiting his cousin Patricia Doyle (Aline Towne), who is in danger of having her land robbed by land thieves. Hadley aids his cousin and her neighbor Gary Taylor (Robert Einer) by disguising as Don Daredevil, taking over the role from his grandfather.
